Terengganu’s Four Must-See Hidden Gems

When thinking of Terengganu, most travelers envision its beautiful beaches and vibrant culture. However, this Malaysian state has a variety of hidden gems that offer unique experiences away from the more popular tourist spots. Here are four must-visit destinations in Terengganu that showcase its natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Lata Payung Waterfall is located in the Lata Payung Recreational Forest in the Setiu district, on the border of Besut, Terengganu. It is 25 km from Bandar Seri Langkap via the Seri Langkap-Kampung Payong Baru Highway and 65 km from Kuala Terengganu City. Visitors can reach the waterfall using vehicles or public transportation such as buses or taxis from Seri Langkap. Visitors must travel along a designated path to reach the waterfall's top. Some say this waterfall is one of the most beautiful in Terengganu, though it is less popular than Sekayu Waterfall and Chemerong Waterfall due to limited promotion and its relatively remote location.

Lata Payung is a tourist attraction known for its natural beauty and charming Blue Pool area. This unique destination offers a distinct experience and is a must-visit location for nature enthusiasts.

Surrounded by rustic kampong homes and swaying coconut trees, Pantai Pandak is a favorite picnic spot among locals. The rocks are a notable attraction, offering views of Pulau Kapas to the south. During low tide, the beach becomes a popular spot for swimming and playing, though visitors should always be mindful of their safety.
